If you want to go on a silk road trip, we suggest you plan your trip anytime between May and October. In summer, the temperature is very high and in winter it is very cold. However, the scenery in the month of May is very beautiful. So, you can enjoy the scenery and not tolerate extreme temperatures.

Things to keep in mind when preparing for travel

Although May may not be too hot for your trip, be aware that the weather along the way can vary considerably. Some areas are very cold, others are dry. For example, the city of Turpan reaches 40 degrees in August. In January, it can withstand minus 20 degrees. Therefore, you should pack the following things before leaving:

Take thin, thick clothes with you
Buy comfortable shoes
Get personal items such as hygiene supplies and dental floss
Use suntan oil and sun block to fight sunburn
Also carry first aid kits
It is not advisable to carry too much luggage in a way that could cause you problems on your journey.
Residence

As the Silk Road stretches across most of China, you can find a wide range of amenities, from simple guest houses and luxury hotels. Depending on your budget, you can choose the right type of accommodation.

Food

You can find traditional Chinese food on your trip at various restaurants. Small restaurants and night markets are the best places if you want to enjoy your favorite snacks. However, make sure you check for cleanliness before entering the restaurant.

It is important to note that you may encounter different nationalities during your trip. They have their own taste towards food and drinks.

In the northwestern part of China, most people drank tea with food or breakfast. Similarly, people have fruit juice, beer and cola. However, you are free to try local drinks like milk, frozen yogurt and kumis.

Visit temples

If you travel along the Silk Road, you can see many temples. There are a few things to keep in mind as you enjoy a fun trip to some of the famous temples.

If you want to address a monk, you can use the words “fashi” or “shi”. The same title is used for the Taoists. Similarly, “Chanshi”, “Funhhang” and “Jungalo” are used for monastic activities.

You must have the proper courtesy when meeting monks. For example, when looking at a monk you should keep your head down and palms together. Shaking, hugging or shaking hands with a monk is considered sacred.

As far as the topics of conversation are concerned, you can’t talk about eating meat, getting married and killing. Similarly, religion and politics are not very good either.

When you go to the temple, do not try to touch the religious artefacts. In a religious ceremony, you must be silent.

Finally, the temple you visit will allow both sexes.

In short, here are some things to keep in mind before heading out on the Silk Road tour.
